Pediatric Ophthalmology

The American Academy of Ophthalmology recommends you schedule a comprehensive eye exam for your child at 6 months of age.

Parents often wonder when their children should have their first eye exam.  The American Academy of Ophthalmology recommends you schedule a comprehensive eye exam for your child at 6 months of age. This is a critical time to check the health of your baby's eyes and look for anything that might interfere with normal and continuing vision development.

At Toyos Clinic, our doctors can evaluate, diagnose, and treat children of all ages for childhood eye disorders including but not limited to: amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (eye turn), congenital cataracts (cloudy eyes), ptosis (droopy eyes), and conjunctivitis (pink eye).

Dr. Toyos received training at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. He performs pediatric cataract and strabismus surgeries.
